Movie Marathons for Charity

The movie nights are back by popular demand this summer. This week we will be showing you two of Leonardo DiCaprio's most recent hits: Inception and Shutter Island. Check below for schedules and location.

Location: South Dining Hall, Hart house (2nd floor)

Entrance and the charity: We will be accepting donations at the door - you can pay as much or as little as you like. However, as a guideline, we suggest $5 donations.
All proceeds will go to help acid victims in Bangladesh. For those of you who don't know, acid violence is a heinous act of burning, deformation, and destruction of the face and other parts of the body, this often causes disabilities and even death. It occurs mostly due to revenge for resisting sexual harassment, refusing marriage a proposal, failure to pay dowry, amongst various other related reasons. It is still very common in parts of South Asia especially in India and Bangladesh. Our donations will help victims with medical care before, during and after operations, psychological care, legal issues, and such and help raise awareness among the community. For more information check out our blog.
